Byron Hicks is the State Director of the North Carolina Small Business & Technology Development Center, having risen through the ranks since joining the program in 2011. He brings over 30 years of diverse business experience to the role, spanning regional banking, family business management, and leading a multi-million dollar contracting firm. A recognized leader in economic development, Byron also serves as chair of the UNC System’s Economic Transformation Council and sits on the Board of the NCWorks Commission.
